Description:
Liaises
with the professional programs of the College of Pharmacy and Health
Sciences (COPHS). Under indirect supervision, the COPHS Liaison provides
general reference service, assists with electronic and print resource
selection, instructs and assists with electronic database searching,
participates in library research instruction, and works with other
liaisons to develop and maintain the library's collections, including
management of College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' materials budget.
Qualifications:
ALA accredited MLS or MSLIS from
an accredited university/college and one year of reference experience
with all information formats, preferably at a biomedical or academic
library, is required. In addition, candidate must have experience in
planning and leading instruction or preparing and making presentations.
Commitment to customer service, strong organizational and interpersonal
communication skills, including initiative, creativity, problem solving,
and knowledge of health sciences curricular trends is essential. Person
must be technically proficient and have an Association of Health
Information Professionals (AHIP) certification above provisional status.
Experience with HTML and web page design and collection development,
including liaison with faculty, is desired. Candidate must be committed

Other: The librarian in
this position provides assistance in most areas of library interaction
with the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, including serving on
committees within the College as needed. The end result of the job is
for students, faculty and staff of Mercer University to have the
information resources they need to complete research and the knowledge
and ability to access these resources efficiently. The twelve month
faculty ranked position is a member of the Division of Library Services.
